Easter has been a busy time in our Micro Communities, with individuals taking part in lots of fun activities.
On Easter Sunday, The Oaks team leaders arranged an Easter egg hunt for everyone. Individual clues and photos were designed for each service user to track down their own egg hidden in the Bardney site. Kyle dressed up as the Easter bunny and other service users walked around singing songs. When the egg was found, they were given two small eggs as a prize and had their photo taken.
Easter Sunday also involved Jennifer and David attending the local Church for the Easter service. They had a fantastic time singing songs and meeting other people from their local community.
On Monday, service users and staff from all Micro Communities were involved in a series of Easter competitions at Bardney including an Easter ‘bake-off’ and an Easter bonnet contest.
The cakes were judged and scored with an Old Halls Easter masterpiece scooping the top spot – a ‘salted caramel sponge encased in Kit Kat, topped with a chocolate shredded wheat nest and animal decorations’. The Oaks came in second with a ‘coffee and walnut cake with coffee icing and mini eggs’. The winners received a huge fruit and vegetable hamper to promote healthy living – especially after all the chocolate!
Staff then judged the Easter Bonnet contest, with the first prize Argos voucher going to Matty’s rabbit themed bonnet. Rebecca came second with her bunny and egg themed bonnet, but well done to everyone for the fantastic efforts that went into all the creations.
Meanwhile in the garden staff had created a race course for the ultimate ‘Egg and Spoon Race’. Lots of service users took part with Alfie taking the victory! The whole weekend was fun filled with lots of excitement for everyone to enjoy and they were even lucky with the weather!Return to articles list
