Outstanding achievement for The Old Hall!
We’re celebrating a new Outstanding rating for one of our residential care homes.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has awarded The Old Hall in Fiskerton an Outstanding rating for the second time running.
Inspectors from the health regulator particularly praised the home for being responsive and well led.
As a result, nine of our 11 residential homes and specialist integration services are rated Outstanding. That means we run 41% of all the Outstanding-rated care homes in Lincolnshire.
In the top 4% of care homes
An Outstanding rating is a major achievement. Fewer than 4% of care homes in England are rated Outstanding by the CQC, so the fact that 82% of our residential homes have the top rating is testament to our innovative, data-informed New Model of Care, and the quality of our 500-strong ONE TEAM.
Managing Director of Home From Home Care, Paul de Savary said:
“We are immensely proud that The Old Hall has been rated Outstanding by the CQC, meaning that nine of our 11 homes in Lincolnshire are among the very best in the country.
“Being rated Outstanding against a background of Covid-19 and the nationwide recruitment crisis in the care sector is testament to our dedicated and highly skilled colleagues, as well as our organisation as a whole.
“We started Home From Home Care because we have a daughter with learning disabilities and we wanted to transform the way care homes operate. We combine innovation with compassion and dedication to change lives for the better. With our unique, data-informed and management system which we developed in-house for 12 years, we’re empowering colleagues to make a far greater impact.
“Because every role here is highly skilled and because values such as empathy are absolutely essential, we only hire the most committed people who share our values. As a family business, we pay very well and we invest in people’s future so they can build amazing and fulfilling careers where they feel recognised and supported. A great outcome which recognises our New Model of Care like this Outstanding rating does is a cause for celebration and it’s a big relief!”
“Highly motivated and passionate”
Situated in the heart of Fiskerton near Lincoln, The Old Hall is a two-storey former farmhouse that’s been extensively rebuilt to accommodate adults with a range of care needs, who each have their own apartments. A key focus of the Old Hall’s service is helping people there to be part of their local community, and this was one of the key observations from the CQC inspection.
Inspectors also praised the ‘tireless’ efforts the team made during the pandemic to ‘offer innovative ideas to promote opportunities for people to promote their emotional wellbeing and confidence and to reduce the impact of social isolation’, and they praised the registered manager’s passion for delivering care that promotes equality.
Other key statements in the inspection report include:
