One year ago, Kara was making sandwiches for a living… Now, she’s an assistant manager at a care home near Lincoln that’s just been rated Outstanding.
Kara had never worked in the care sector before she joined our team at The Old Hall in Fiskerton, but we invested in her obvious talents and she’s now enjoying a career that’s truly rewarding.

After joining Home From Home Care as a personal support worker level 1 Kara has made amazing progress.

After joining in January 2022, Kara started her induction training and passed her probation after three months. She was quickly promoted to a personal support worker level 2 role before being seconded to a level 3 position.
Then, after six months working at Home From Home Care, Kara was seconded to a health partner position before moving into the role of assistant manager. She was supported by an extensive training framework tailored especially for new assistant managers.
Kara said: “I enjoy building relationships with the individuals and taking them out on activities. I also enjoy how flexible Home From Home Care is.
“Working at Home From Home Care is amazing, fulfilling, and every single day is completely different. I love it!”
