Jack Screaton, Positive Behavioural Support Partner at Home From Home Care, has been nominated for a Great British Care Award in the 2022 regional finals.
Jack is a finalist in the Care Newcomer award category for the East Midlands region. The winners will be announced at a ceremony at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham on 3 November 2022.
Celebrating excellence in care
The Great British Care Awards is a series of regional awards ceremonies throughout the UK that celebrate excellence in the care sector. Winners at the regional events go through to the Great British Care Awards national finals in March 2023 at the ICC in Birmingham.
Jack’s nomination comes after he won the Rising Star award in the Lincolnshire Care Awards organised by Lincolnshire Care Association in April 2022.
After previously working for McDonalds and studying at Lincoln College’s Care College, Jack now works as a positive behavioural support partner at Home From Home Care’s Kirk House in Dorrington.
“I’m so proud”
Speaking about his time at Home From Home Care, Jack said:
“I used to work at McDonald’s flipping burgers and then Covid happened so I was furloughed. I applied to work at Home From Home Care and got the job. I started as a level 1 Personal Support Worker and I’ve since been promoted to Positive Behavioural Support Partner and I also handle transitions within the company.
“I’ve been supported to no-end at Home From Home Care where they have endless opportunities. From flipping burgers to where I am now, working in an amazing company, it’s unbelievable.
“Winning Rising Star at the Lincolnshire Care Association Awards was absolutely amazing. It just goes to show all my hard work has paid off. It’s such a warm, good feeling. I’m so proud to be a regional finalist for the Great British Care Awards, I never would have thought, working where I was two years ago, that it’d be nominated for awards and gaining the skills that I’ve got, it’s just amazing, it’s a really good feeling.”
