Meet The Team – Simon Relf

Meet the team - Simon

Our ‘Meet the Team’ series continues with Simon Relf, TRACS Partner at The Reeds. Each instalment is designed to help you learn more about the people delivering exceptional care and support at Home From Home Care.

Previously Simon worked at Kirk House before gaining experience with a different provider, working with young people with emotional behavioural difficulties and mental health disorders. Simon re-joined Home From Home Care around five months ago and has recently been promoted to TRACS partner. As a TRACS partner, Simon is responsible for monitoring the progress of the people we support.

What do you enjoy about working for Home From Home Care?

The team I work with are the best I’ve ever worked with. Everyone is so passionate and enthusiastic and because of this, we get a lot of success with the individuals we support.

What has been your career highlight?

Being successful in my recent TRACS partner interview and being promoted four days after passing my probation period.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

 Positive, energetic, resilient.

What makes HFHC’s approach to care different from other care providers?

The service users really matter and the care we give is bespoke to the individual.

How have you been supported in your career growth at Home From Home Care?

At my interview I discussed my ambitions with Recruitment, this got fed through my One2Ones and I quickly gained access to TRACS which is what I saw myself doing. It happened much quicker than I expected.

How do team working dynamics differ from other care providers?

It feels like one team instead of the often-divided attitudes you get elsewhere.

What new initiatives have you implemented during your time at Home From Home Care?

I’m still learning as I go at this stage still but I recently organised a woodland walk through Woodhall Spa with a few service users who are quite tactile. They appeared to enjoy the scenery and the feel of the bark and leaves in the area, which was really rewarding.

What exciting projects are you part of?

The Reeds is the newest home in the company and being part of something so new has a real positive and energetic feel to it, where we’re all passionate and enthusiastic about making the service we provide a success and smashing our first CQC inspection. Being involved in something new like this doesn’t come along very often so I feel very fortunate to be part of it.
