Due to expansion, this newly created role is an exciting opportunity to support both colleagues and individuals we support to learn new life skills that will enhance their mental/physical wellbeing, as well as increasing social confidence. Over 18 years, we have built specialist integration care homes for adults with learning disabilities. The Role

The primary focus of this position will be to improve food and nutritional standards for individuals we support, employees and people living in the local community. This will involve developing and driving a holistic approach to nutrition across the organisation, from assessment to practical skill development. You will then be tasked at delivering bespoke courses including Interactive food hygiene, food preparation and Food life skills. Additionally, delivering training in efficient shopping techniques, stock management and specialist diet inclusion.

Another key focus of this role will see you working with specialist technical teams to create and further develop digital tools and resources. This will include online guidance’s for specific nutritional requirements and tools for identifying/evaluating nutritional content of meals.

Holding events for the individuals we support is an important and fun part of what we do at HFHC. This will see you working collaboratively to facilitate work experience programmes, themed tasting sessions, celebratory events such as birthdays, development of our HFHC Fresh initiative and our “Garden to table” project. Additionally, this role has a strong emphasis on increasing community engagement and the use of local suppliers and providers. For example, catering for local community kitchens serving meals to vulnerable people and supporting new “pop up” enterprises.

As Training Kitchen Manager, playing an active part in the assessment and management of risk to maintain a safe operating environment for everyone involved is key. Ensuring that all kitchen operations and activities are carried out in full compliance with Health & Safety standards.

The Person

Previous experience within a kitchen management/cook/training position is essential. Related qualifications are also desirable. Strong communication skills, an outgoing personality and a positive, ‘can do’ attitude will see you succeed in this role.
