The Reeds is Officially Open

The Reeds

An opening ceremony at The Reeds took place on 5th September 2016, celebrating the opening of the new home that is set to care for eight adults. Part of the Kirk House Micro Community, The Reeds joins a space developed for supporting the most complex individuals in a social care environment, delivering on the aspirations of an inclusive community approach.

A number of local councilors attended including; the Mayor of Sleaford, Cllr David Suiter; Deputy Mayor of Lincoln, Cllr Chris Burke; Vice chair of West Lindsey, Cllr Jessie Milne and the lovely Cllr Ray Cucksey from North Kesteven formally announced the opening, cutting the ribbon with Paul de Savary.

Every service user is accommodated in their own personalised self-contained apartment affording them privacy, choice and control. Each apartment has two rooms as well as a kitchen and en-suite. The apartments are linked to a communal area shared with other people providing the opportunity for social interaction on their own terms.

The newly recruited staff members, who are all from the local area, and all the team at Home From Home Care are looking forward to welcoming the new residents to The Reeds and supporting them to lead fulfilled lives with bright futures. We would also like to thank all those that joined us in the celebration.
