With summer now in full swing, we have been enjoying the great outdoors, exploring different areas and meeting with friends.
Many of the individuals we support have been enjoying the weather with a barbecue. These informal events have been held across a number of shared locations and offer a great opportunity to bring friends together to eat seasonal food and enjoy each other’s company.
Day trips are another summer staple and individuals who attend our Day Opportunities Service went on a trip recently to Woodside Wildlife Park. They met some friendly parrots and had a great time exploring and watching the animals.
No summer is complete without a visit to the beach and many individuals we support have enjoyed day trips to explore the seaside. Individuals living at Kirk House also visited a donkey sanctuary, with an opportunity to feed and pet the animals.
Visiting a summer fete can be a wonderful day out, with the opportunity to play games and learn about different crafts. Residents of Vicarage Lodge had a great day at Covenham Fete trying their hand at archery, watching the shire horses and playing hook a duck.
