A Royal Appointment

Princess Anne

A group from Vicarage Lodge and The Old Vicarage were invited to be part of a very special day when HRH Princess Anne visited the Lincolnshire Rural Activities Centre in Louth. This royal visit was in honour of a very special occasion – Lincolnshire Riding for the Disabled’s 45th anniversary. The team from Vicarage Lodge report: “On arrival we were greeted and offered tea & biscuits and mingled with other guests whilst waiting for Princess Anne. Unfortunately there was a delay due to problems with her helicopter! When Princess Anne eventually arrived she was given a tour of the building and recognised some of the devoted Grimsby volunteers at the service. During her visit to Louth, Princess Anne was treated to a riding display. We all gathered onto the riding area where the Princess Royal spoke to all of us and presented the HFHC guests with a rosette. Laura was extremely nervous whilst stood waiting for Princess Anne to shake her hand but managed to curtsy in front of her, shake her hand and said how nice it was to meet her! Laura was overwhelmed by the experience and was full of smiles all the way home. They all really enjoyed the day .”
