Home From Home Care is delighted to announce that two of its unique homes – ‘The Oaks’ and ‘The Reeds’- have been rated Outstanding overall by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
With 18% of its services now rated Outstanding, compared to 2% nationally, and all its other services rated as Good, Home From Home Care is at the forefront of high quality innovative care.
Paul de Savary, Managing Director, says “Our approach to care alongside our unique digital platform, allows us to wrap a totally personalised and comprehensive care service around each individual we are privileged to support.
“Transparency and collaborative working are key. They create a dynamic environment for staff and the individuals being supported, empowering them to have greater ownership over their lives and so be more fulfilled.”
In 2016, CQC initially refused to register The Reeds as it didn’t conform to their newly imposed guidance. “We are especially grateful to the CQC Inspectors for recognising the merits of our distinctive model of care, which fundamentally challenges existing concepts.”
Paul continues “By its nature, the regulator will always be looking backwards to protect against past horrors and so can miss the opportunities for progression that a new approach like ours brings.”
CQC’s reports highlight Home From Home Care’s ‘culture of continuous improvement’, with individuals in their care feeling ‘empowered to make decisions for themselves and make meaningful choices’. Staff were also praised for their ‘caring nature and passion for providing good quality care’.
Paul and the Home From Home Care team believe passionately that their breakthrough approach utilising real-time data is a fundamental game changer “If rolled out nationally, our new model of care will fundamentally help to improve the sector for vulnerable people, their families and staff.”
