This year’s Home From Home Care Summer Fair was our biggest yet, bringing together more than 450 colleagues, individuals and their families for an unforgettable day of sunshine, fun and community at Coleby Village Hall & Playing Fields, Lincolnshire.
Packed with exciting activities, delicious food and family entertainment, the annual Summer Fair celebrated everything that makes Home From Home Care so special – bringing people together.
Interactive & sensory activities for all
From rocket launching and circus skills to giant inflatables, pony petting and even sheep walking, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

The playing fields were buzzing with outdoor games including football darts, bouncy castles, hook-a-duck and hoopla, with many trying their hand at circus skills including tightrope walking and stilts. Face painting, creative crafts from the Activity Hub and music from DJ Bernie kept the celebrations going all afternoon.
Animal petting and sheep walking
Animal lovers also had plenty to enjoy with pony petting and sheep walking experiences proving a huge hit.
Beth, Home From Home Care’s Locality IMS Manager said:
“We all get to come out in the sunshine, have a great day, lots of food, and try loads of new activities.”
There was no shortage of fantastic food either, with guests enjoying fish and chips, jacket potatoes, hot dogs, poke bowls, ice creams, teas, coffees and refreshing drinks from the bar.
Creative competitions and rocket launches
Ahead of the Summer Fair, individuals took part in a range of creative competitions including vegetable sculptures, plot-on-a-plate creations and homemade rockets. Judged during the event, the competitions showcased incredible creativity before the homemade rockets were launched into the sky to the delight of the crowd.
Reflecting on the event’s continued success, Executive Chairman Paul de Savary said:
“It’s our 22nd year and we’ve done many summer fairs! It’s wonderful to see how individuals are progressing, many of them have moved into lower levels of support.
We have nearly 600 people now that work for Home From Home Care but we still have that family culture which is what we are about and so we’re delighted to see everyone coming together.”
Steve, Information & Compliance Manager, added:
“We’ve got families who’ve come from Scotland today, from the Southwest, from throughout the United Kingdom and it makes us a really special organisation.”
Bringing families together
The Summer Fair isn’t just about activities – it’s an opportunity for families to spend quality time together and connect with other parents.
One family shared:
“We like coming to the fair because we can meet other like-minded parents which is great. Home From Home Care makes life as normal as possible for people like our son to live a very full and also an interesting life.”
Supporting Say Hello Charity
The celebrations also helped make a difference beyond the event, with a bumper raffle raising an incredible £547 for Say Hello Charity, supporting adults with learning disabilities to overcome loneliness and social isolation across Lincolnshire.
A huge thank you goes to our incredible ONE TEAM, whose passion, hard work and dedication made this year’s Summer Fair our best one yet. We can’t wait to do it all again next year!
