Dancing the Night Away

HFHC Ball Dancing

The Halloween fun at Home From Home Care drew to a close on Saturday, as more than 50 individuals that we support enjoyed a fantastic Halloween Party.

In the weeks running up to the party, individuals enjoyed creating decorations, carving pumpkins and choosing colourful costumes. It was a great opportunity for everyone to get involved in the preparations.

On the night there was lots of dancing, laughter and smiles as friends came together to celebrate and enjoy each other’s company. There was music, delicious food, a magician, and certificates awarded for the best costume, best dancer and best creative pumpkin.

Events such as Halloween are important activities in the social calendar, with the emphasis always being on inclusion – particularly for those who want to take part but don’t enjoy the loud music or crowds of people associated with such events.

Having a quieter time before the main party gets underway for people to access the event alone on their own terms is a great way to make sure everyone is included. Access to a quiet ‘break out room’ is also always provided for anyone who needs some quieter time during the party.

Small things like these can make a big difference to those attending and make it an enjoyable event for everyone.
